Dwight & Jerel Hall
Beulaville, NC
Dwight Hall and his extended family have lived and farmed in the area for multiple generations. Surrounded by tobacco fields, Dwight grew up raising hogs outdoors. Early in his career, he owned a number of small businesses, including in carpentry and general contracting and built many of the houses in his neighborhood.
In the 1980s, he and his Dad bought the land they now farm. Dwight works as a truck driver and is on the road a lot so his youngest son Jerel has taken over managing their hog operation. Jerel has a full-time job working as a process technician for Guilford Performance Textiles in Kenansville and finds time for farming in the mornings and evenings after work and on the weekends. He has goals to increase their hog numbers as time allows and markets expand.
